About This Item

The 70mai Smart Dashcam M500 is the latest offering from 70mai, a Xiaomi ecosystem company that specialises in dashcams. The M500 Dashcam features a 5 Megapixel F2.0 aperture camera capable of recording video 2.5 times clearer than standard 1080p Full-HD resolution videos. Moreover, the 170-degree field-of-view ensures that the recorded video offers a better angle, thus reducing the chances of any blind spots. It can also capture trip data like time, speed and coordinates using GPS and GLONASS satellite signals. The M500 has no display screen. A green light indicates the recording is on. Video files are viewed through the companion mobile app.

The M500 dashcam is equipped with built-in eMMC memory storage which is more reliable and provides faster read write speeds than a microSD card. The dashcam sits in a mounting bracket so that it can be easy removed and connected to a computer over USB or video files viewed in the mobile app. The dashcam has its own Wi-Fi network for easy connection from your mobile, along with Bluetooth. This is included to support the optional feature of tire pressure and temperature monitoring system (TPMS). There is also voice command support for hands-free operation while driving.

With the addition of the 70mai Hardwire Kit UP03 (sold separately), this dashcam also features 24-hour parking surveillance. When the ignition is switched off, the camera enters parking monitoring mode. As soon as it detects any vibrations through the G-sensor, the camera wakes up and record a short 1 minute video clip, which is saved and locked in the Event Folder. It will remind you by voice alert to check the event video when you go back to the car. The Hardwire Kit is connected to the car battery, bypassing the ignition switch and can uninterruptly supply power to the dashcam for 24 hours even when the engine is switched off. If the vehicle battery voltage drops to 11.4V or 22.8V, the regulator will cut off the power, leaving enough power to start the vehicle. The M500 also offers intelligent 24-hour continuous time-lapse feature that compresses 30 minutes of footage to one minute, allowing you to store several weeks of footage without overwriting. The Hardwire Kit requires a professional technician to do the installation.

The 70mai M500 Dashcam also features the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) functionality, which in combination with voice-based alerts, provides drivers with warnings of potential safety hazards in real-time, such as lane departure, forward vehicle collision, pedestrian collision, moving traffic, etc. Another optional safety feature is the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS) with voice alerts. Battery-powered TPMS tire valve cap sensors can be easily installed on each tire. The TPMS communicates with the dashcam using Bluetooth and alerts you when the tire pressure is 25% below the recommended pressure.
