The 70mai Dash Cam Pro Plus+ A500S is manufactured by 70mai, a Xiaomi ecosystem company that specialises in dash cams. This second generation dash cam comes with 2592 x 1944 resolution and built-in GPS module. With this camera’s Sony IMX335 sensor and 140 degrees field of view, you can see number plates of vehicles round you even at night without lens flare and take in the entire road ahead.

The built-in GPS module stores GPS coordinates and speed data in the McroSD card. It enables the Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS). ADAS is an intelligent system which warns you through voice prompt about proper distance from the car in front and has a lane departure warning. It can be useful in some situations like a highway. The speed and coordinates information are shown in the dash cam and 70mai app during playback.

The built-in G-Sensor technology automatically saves footage in emergency events for you. Should any collision or crash happen, A500 auto locks the real-time video segments and prevents them from being deleted or overwritten during loop recording. Defogging algorithm produces a clear vision while driving in smoke and haze environment. WDR technology can adjust exposure balance, enabling the camera to pick up greater detail in darkness and brightness.

The best feature of this dash cam is the WiFi capability. Aside from transferring videos/photos to the phone, watching live streaming or replay footages, all the settings can be adjusted through the apps. No more buttons pressing on the dash cam.

With the addition of the 70mai Hardwire Kit UP02(sold separately), this dash cam also features a 24-hour parking surveillance. When the ignition is switched off, the camera enters parking monitoring mode. As soon as it detects any vibrations through the G-sensor, the camera wakes up and record a short 1 minute video clip, which is saved and locked in the Event Folder. It will remind you to check the event video when you go back to the car. The Hardwire Kit is connected to the car battery, bypassing the ignition switch and can uninterruptly supply power to the dash cam for 24 hours even when the engine is switched off. If the vehicle battery voltage drops to 11.4V or 22.8V, the regulator will cut off the power, leaving enough power to start the vehicle. It requires a professional technician to do the installation.

Another optional item that works with A500S dashcam is the 70mai Rear Camera RC06 which provides 130-degree angle of coverage for the area behind the car when driving or parking. The third optional item is the 70mai Interior Camera that covers the area inside the car, enabling video recording continuously or during emergency when the G-sensor detects shake or collision regardless whether your car is moving or stationary. As the A500S has only one input for a second camera, you can only use either RC06 or FC02 but not both.
