About This Item

The 70mai Dashcam Lite2 is manufactured by 70mai, a Xiaomi ecosystem company that specialises in dashcams. It won the Reddot Design Award in 2019. The 70mai Dashcam Lite2 is equiped with the Sony STARVIS CMOS IMX307 sensor. This is a sensor that can capture images both in daylight and low light situations. The 70mai Lite2 records in Full HD 1080P resolution. Video is very clear in daylight and also very good at night. You do see some halos around bright lights, but it doesn’t wash out the video.

The built-in G-Sensor technology automatically saves footage in emergency events for you. Should any collision or crash happen, this dashcam auto locks the real-time video segments and prevents them from being deleted or overwritten during loop recording.

The best feature of this dashcam is the WiFi capability. Aside from transferring videos/photos to the phone, watching live streaming or replay footages, all the settings can be adjusted through the apps. No more buttons pressing on the dashcam.

The Dashcam Lite2 comes with a new Time Lapse function. With this functionality, a video that normally lasts 30 minutes is reduced to one minute. Thanks to this, we drastically gain space on the card and new movies will overwrite the old ones much less often.

With the addition of the 70mai Hardwire Kit UP02 (sold separately), this dashcam also features a 24-hour parking surveillance. When the ignition is switched off, the camera enters parking monitoring mode. As soon as it detects any vibrations through the G-sensor, the camera wakes up and record a short 1 minute video clip, which is saved and locked in the Event Folder. It will remind you to check the event video when you go back to the car. The Hardwire Kit UP02 is connected to the car battery, bypassing the ignition switch and can uninterruptly supply power to the dashcam for 24 hours even when the engine is switched off. If the vehicle battery voltage drops to 11.4V or 22.8V, the regulator will cut off the power, leaving enough power to start the vehicle. It requires a professional technician to do the installation.

The second option is an external GPS recorder module (sold separately). It can be mounted on the dashboard and connected to the Lite2 Dashcam. With this module, you can see where you have travelled and where your car was at a given time. You can also preview all the routes you have travelled recently from the App.
