The Xiaomi Mijia Night 2 Bluetooth version is an upgrade from the previous version without Bluetooth capability. It is one of many smart products by Xiaomi ecochain companies. This version, with its Bluetooth connectivity, can be integrated with the other Xiaomi smart home products via the Mi Home App. This device also has a built-in photosensitive and human body dual sensor. The sensing range is 120° radius. The device uses 3 AA batteries with a cumulative power of not less than 1500mAh. According to the manufacturer, the battery can last up to 365 days when used under low brightness condition.

The night light works with two sensors, an infrared sensor and a light sensor. With the infrared sensor, the night light detects movement and switches itself on. However, this only happens when it is dark or hardly any light, i.e. at night or when the light in the room is switched off. The sensor covers an angle of 120° in which it registers the movements. If the device does not detect any movement for 15 seconds, it switches off automatically.

This device comes with an innovative magnetic structure. The independent lamp body is firmly attracted onto the base and can be turned and moved 360°. The lamp's brightness can be adjusted in the app. The low setting is suitable for getting up at night, subdued and not glaring. The high setting is for dim lighting, enough brightness to illuminate the surrounding. The brightness and duration that the light remains on, can also be managed from the Mi Home App.

The user manual for this device is in Chinese. The Mi Home App is multi-language, including English. When adding this device to the Mi Home App, you need to set the profile region as “Mainland China” as the server for this device is located there.

Installation Overview

1. Turn on Bluetooth setting on your smartphone.
2. Make sure you have a Wifi Connection.
3. Open the Mi Home app and login with your Mi Account.
4. Make sure your profile region setting is 'Mainland China' to connect to the China Server.
5. Search for the Xiaomi Mijia Night Light 2 in the devices section or tab the plus sign at the top right hand corner of your screen and pair your selected device with your app. Follow the step by step instructions in the app to set up and configure the device.
